Is there a Meta Quest 4?

No. Meta has not announced a Quest 4 and the current VR headsets are the Meta Quest 3 and the cheaper Quest 3S. Meta’s next VR device is the Meta VR Glasses, due in spring 2027.

What does a search for a Quest 4 find today?

A search for a Quest 4 lands on the current range. The Quest 3 arrived in October 2023 and the Quest 3S followed in October 2024. Both remain on sale and supported and each runs the same catalogue of games and apps.

Nothing above them has been announced and Meta has given no name, design or launch window for a successor. The range stands at two models as of November 2026. A Quest 4 would be the first new number in the line since the Quest 3.

A numbered Quest reaches the market with a name, a design and a launch date from Meta. None of the three exists for a Quest 4. Meta adds a letter beside a generation rather than a new number. The 3S is a variant of the 3. That is why the two models cover the whole of Meta’s standalone VR line.

What are the current Meta headsets?

The Quest 3 and the Quest 3S are the two headsets Meta sells today. Both are standalone VR headsets which run games and apps with no PC or console attached.

Standalone sets the pace of a session: the computer and the battery sit inside the device and the picture arrives as the headset comes up to the eyes. Tracking runs on the device itself and the wearer moves a few steps without a cable.

The 3S keeps the standalone design and the mixed reality camera set while the difference between the two models sits in the display and the optics. Meta’s store listings carry the full specifications for each.

The 3S arrived a year after the 3 at a lower cost and Meta has kept both in production since. A buyer in 2026 therefore picks between a 2023 design and a 2024 design.

Are the Quest 3 and Quest 3S still supported?

Yes. Both headsets remain on sale and supported in November 2026 and Meta announced new game releases for them at Meta Connect 2026.

Support keeps a headset current. On these two models it comes as new releases. Games lined up for 2026 and for 2027 keep both models in the schedule and run past the spring 2027 launch of the VR Glasses. Updates sit alongside the games and a Quest 3 bought in 2023 stays current through the 2027 releases.

The release list covers the two models rather than one. A game listed for the Quest 3 and 3S arrives on both. Owners of either headset meet the same new titles across both years.

What has Meta announced for 2027?

The next VR device from Meta is the Meta VR Glasses. Meta announced the device in September 2026 at Meta Connect and plans to launch it in spring 2027.

Meta describes it as a VR headset built into a glasses-like frame at around 100 g. 5K micro-OLED displays sit inside that frame. The device connects by cable to a puck and sits on the face like eyewear. Meta’s AI glasses line continues alongside it.

Is the Meta VR Glasses a Quest 4?

No. The Meta VR Glasses is a separate product line rather than a fourth Quest. Meta has given it a new name and a launch window of its own.

Software links the two lines and the VR Glasses runs the Quest catalogue. A library built on a Quest 3 or 3S stays in use on the new device. Owners meet the same games in a far lighter frame.

Anyone who wants a Quest headset picks from two models today while the newest form arrives in spring 2027. The Quest pair carries the games through 2026 and 2027. The VR Glasses carries the same software into a new frame a few months later.

What about reported Quest 4 release dates?

Meta has not announced a Quest 4 and any date attached to one comes from press speculation rather than a company statement.

A launch counts as announced when Meta states it at Connect or on its own product pages. On that measure Meta’s next dated VR launch is the VR Glasses in spring 2027. A date in a headline carries no weight until the device itself appears on Meta’s own pages. The range holds at two headsets for now and the roadmap holds one dated device.

Where does that leave 2026?

Two headsets on sale and one device dated for spring 2027 make a settled picture. The Quest 3 and 3S stay in the release schedule through 2026 and into 2027 while the VR Glasses adds a line on top of the pair.

For an event the model matters less than the experience. We run VR sessions at corporate events and the game and the briefing carry the hour. Guests arrive with a mix of experience and the managed set-up puts everyone on the same hardware. A guest remembers the race or the rescue long after the headset comes off.

The same hardware can build a skill as well as fill an evening. Whether sim racing makes you a better driver works through what a simulator transfers to the road.

The hardware question can wait for a launch. Managed hire brings the headsets and an operator to your venue so the whole group plays on current kit without anyone buying a device.
